From Legally Blonde's writers comes The House Bunny, out in the UK today following its summer release in the US. The film focuses on Shelley (Anna Faris), a Playboy bunny who's thrown out of Hef's mansion for being too old. Finding herself on a university campus, she becomes housemother to a sorority of "nerds". Cue lots of lessons in makeup and fashion, and the requisite discovery that it's not all about looks.My girl Buzz found the film disappointing, but did think Anna Faris was endearingly goofy. Zac Efron Waxwork at Madame Tussauds: Freaky or Fab?

Yesterday I posted some gorgeous photos of Zac Efron at the High School Musical 3: Senior Year premiere in London's Leicester Square. As part of all the excitement surrounding the movie, Madame Tussauds today unveiled their wax "likeness" of the actor. From a distance it looks kind of OK, but up close I really don't think it looks like him at all — in fact I think it's a little creepy! But I want to know what you think — is the Madame Tussauds version of HSM's Troy Bolton freaky, or fabulous?Source

We saw Robert Downey Jr going incognito in London yesterday on the set of Guy Ritchie's version of Sherlock Holmes, and now Jude Law's following his lead by covering up with sunnies. He's also grown a moustache for his role as Dr Watson in the film. Here's the trailer for the upcoming Madonna-directed indie movie, Filth and Wisdom. I've been curious to see it as I watched the Queen of Pop herself directing the action outside a local pharmacy last year!The trailer is narrated by the main character, a Ukrainian man named A.K. (Eugene Hutz, from Gogol Bordello), who moonlights as a cross-dressing dominatrix to finance his rock star aspirations. The movie revolves around A.K. and his two female flatmates: "Holly (Holly Weston), a ballet dancer who works as a stripper... at a local club and Juliette (Vicky McClure), a pharmacy assistant who dreams of going to Africa to help starving children."I'm not sure whether I'm interested enough to go see the full movie when it comes out, but what do you think? Here's the trailer for Tom Cruise vehicle Valkyrie, directed by Bryan Singer. There's no release date set for the UK yet, but I'd imagine we'll get it in here sometime after Christmas as the US release date is Boxing Day.Though I'm confused by the Germans with American accents, the film is visually appealing and the trailer's upped my curiosity about it. Plus supporting actors including Bill Nighy, Eddie Izzard and Kenneth Branagh definitely add more intrigue. Cruise plays a German officer who plots to assassinate Hitler during the height of World War II. So check out the trailer and let me know if you'll see it, or skip it. Source

The new Miramax film version of Brideshead Revisited, based on Evelyn Waugh's novel (which we read for September's PopUK Book Club), is released in the UK today.It centres on Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode) and his infatuation with the aristocratic Catholic Flyte family, headed by Lady Marchmain (Emma Thompson) and Lord Marchmain (Michael Gambon). Dramas unfold from Charles's intense relationships with siblings Sebastian (Ben Whishaw, who appears in our October Must Haves) and Julia (The Duchess' Hayley Atwell).Having reviewed ITV's adaptation, I'm intrigued how the film will fit so much action in to a smaller amount of time. The new series of Never Mind the Buzzcocks starts on BBC2 tonight without team captain Bill Bailey, who has left the show. Phil Jupitus continues to captain one team, and Simon Amstell returns as host, but the show will feature a guest team captain each week. First Glance: Britannia High — Are You Looking Forward To It?

Mitch Hewer's new project Britannia High is starting on ITV very shortly, featuring original music written by Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Guy Chambers and others, as well as appearances from Adam Garcia and Matt Willis as well as members of Girls Aloud and Boyzone. The show is set in a stage school and follows six good-looking teen students as they cope with everything that's thrown their way!While the images suggest High School Musical, the trailer has a cleaned-up, abstract Skins meets The Biz feel to it, although perhaps that's just because of Mitch's dancing — either way I'm looking forward to seeing what the show has to offer. Nights In Rodanthe (out October 10) is based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, the author of The Notebook, which should probably indicate to you whether you'll be in the faction who love it or hate it. I know that movie splits audiences down the middle! Starring Diane Lane, Richard Gere and Christopher Meloni (with an uncredited James Franco), the movie is about a doctor who is traveling to see his estranged son, but unexpectedly feels sparks with an unhappily married woman at an inn in North Carolina.Check out the trailer below and tell me, will you see it, or will you skip it?

Do You Mainly Watch British Or American TV Shows?

British TV shows have very short seasons, for instance Lost In Austen finishes tonight after its short run, and Secret Diary Of A Call Girl's seasons are only eight episodes. In America TV seasons generally last for upwards of twenty episodes, unless the show is canceled or is a mid-season replacement. This got me thinking about my viewing habits, and wondering about yours.Recently, with the shows mentioned above, Gavin and Stacey, Skins and others I've been watching a fair bit of homegrown TV. But generally there's a lot more American accents on my screen that British ones, perhaps because of the wealth of American imports like Lipstick Jungle, Samantha Who? and Ugly Betty on UK schedules. What about you? Do you watch more homegrown TV, or mainly imports?Source

New panel show Celebrity Juice starts on ITV2 this evening, with Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton going head to head as rival team captains and Leigh Francis (as Business Man of the Year 1993 Keith Lemon) hosting. All three attended the ITV2 autumn season launch party last month, and I've been intrigued about the show ever since. Each week Holly and Fearne will be joined by celebs, and the two teams will compete to see who knows the most about that week's tabloid news — sounds like a pop culture version of Have I Got News For You! First Glance: Max Payne — See It or Skip It?

Video game-turned-movie Max Payne (out November 14 in the UK) looks pretty angsty, dark and spooky. Mark Wahlberg plays DEA (drugs enforcement administration) agent Max, who is looking to avenge the deaths of his family members. Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Mila Kunis costars as an assassin who is also looking to avenge her sister's death. When Mila recorded the FSM commentary she was filming Max Payne, and mentioned that the "toxic" fake snow that was used caused the entire non-acting faction of the crew to wear masks whilst shooting. That really doesn't sound fun.So what do you think? Judging by the trailer, will you see it, or skip it? Source

David Blaine's Stunts — Love Them or Leave Them?

David Blaine is hanging upside down in New York's Central Park for his latest endurance challenge, having previously: held his breath for 17 minutes; stood on a pillar for 35 hours; spent 63 hours in a block of ice; and lived in a box above the Thames for 44 days. For this latest stunt, he won't be able to eat or sleep for 60 hours, and there's a risk he could go blind. Once 60 hours is up on Wednesday night David, or "The Upside Down Man", will be dropped head first. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are reunited for the first time since Titanic in a new movie adaptation of Richard Yates' fantastic novel Revolutionary Road. The story focuses on a young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s, as they struggle to come to terms with their personal problems along with raising their two children. It's a dramatic but fantastic book and — judging from this trailer — the film looks set to capture that too.It's set for release in the UK on January 30th 2009, but what do you think — will you see it or will you skip it?
