Looks like Bella, I mean
Kristen Stewart, could still find time to stop into the Apple Store in NYC yesterday, despite the non-stop
Twilight promoting.
And why shouldn't she? When you need a new iPod (apparently what she was shopping for), you go get yourself a new iPod.

It's hard to believe that the product that put Apple back on the map just a few years ago, the iPod, only accounted for
14 percent of Apple's sales revenue this year. Of course, Apple is doing great, thanks to strong sales of the iPhone and computers, it's no longer just dependent on the growth of the iPod.
No doubt Apple's success today is indebted to the iPod, which after
its seventh birthday just may still be my favorite Apple product.

Can you believe it? Seven years ago today,
Apple introduced the first generation (5G)
iPod. With a hard disk drive, mechanical scroll wheel and a FireWire port, the device was unlike any other mp3 player on the market at that time.

If your lil one is a music fan, or is used to seeing you attached to your iPod, you may want to re-consider throwing away the box when your next package arrives. With a lil paint, minimal artistic talent and a few supplies you will find around your home, you can easily create an iPod costume for your budding music man.
Supplies you will need:
- Medium-sized cardboard box
- Red and gray paint (the Livos Salis finger paints can be diluted with a little water to make them paintbrush accessible)
- Box cutter
- Poster board
- Rubber cement or glue
- Plastic wrap
- Tape

First of all, I love the name of this band. Woo-hoo, galaxy tour! Their song, "Around the Bend," is basically what you would listen to if you were, say, an asteroid rocketing around the galaxy.

On first consideration, I thought these
Butterfly iPod Docks from PBTeen were too young for me, but then I remembered the
Vestalife Ladybug Dock, whose soaring popularity is so high because of its girlie, young design.
These docks are cute and fun, but what's not cute, young, or fun, is the $100 price tag! Pottery Barn needs to learn to not start their novelty peripherals at such a high price point, because I was this close.

iPod nano with all-new features.

At last week's
Let's Rock event, a little thing Steve announced was overshadowed by stuff like new iPods and a fix-all
iPhone update: Genius! Part of the iTunes 8 update, Genius is a fun new feature for iTunes and iPods, which, I admit, didn't impress me at all when I was first hearing about it.
How silly I was!

Last week's
Let's Rock announcements of new iPods made me want to finally take the plunge and get the
Nike+ system so I can rock out with my new Nano and get fit at the same time.
One thing holding me back, though, is Nike's own line of running shoes that you're supposed to purchase to use with Nike+. Since I need a lot of support and am picky about my running shoes, I just thought I'd hack the system and put the Nike+ sensor in my chosen pair of shoes.

If you haven't seen the
commercial for the new iPod Nano yet, you probably will soon (and probably over and over again, at that). And you might find yourself wondering, like I always seem to do these days with Apple ads, "Wow, who is singing that cute and catchy song?" Once upon a time,
the Nano made Feist a star, and it feels like just yesterday I was
downloading Yael Naim after seeing the MacBook Air ads airing between my favorite shows.
