Emma Watson Brings Some Magic to the Ice

Emma Watson literally lit up Somerset House Ice Rink when she attended the VIP launch in London last night. The Harry Potter star turned on the lights on the Tiffany Christmas tree at the opening ceremony, and said she was "absolutely delighted" to be given the honour, adding: "I've been coming here since I was about 13 and I absolutely love it. It's Christmassy and wonderful". We've got to wait until summer to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but my girl Buzz can ease the wait with the newest trailer for the movie. Daniel Radcliffe Dishes As Equus Arrives In America

Daniel Radcliffe has been in the US this week, chatting with the New York Times before he reprises his role in Equus, where he'll be appearing naked on Broadway in September. The modest star spoke about how he got to where he is now "by dumb luck" and hard work — love him. Here are some more of the highlights:

On Half-Blood Prince being different in tone: "It’s like what the Arctic Monkeys said about their second album: In the places when it’s dark, it’s even darker, and in the places when it’s light, it’s even lighter... The dark parts are with Dumbledore and Voldemort and his influence on things, and the light parts are very, very fun stuff with Ron and Hermione. Jesse Cave, who plays Lavender, is just brilliant. We had a lot of fun."
On the psychological aspects of Equus: "There are more people in therapy in this country [than England], so you get it... Whereas in England, we don't talk about that. 'You're depressed? Walk it off!'"
On the nudity: "Offended mothers were calling up and saying I shouldn't be doing this, that they weren't going to go see it... OK, don't see it. They're treating it like it's pornography, and it's not. It's only seven minutes at the end of the play when I'm naked, and I'm 19 now."
On acting on stage versus film: "We're never in situations in films where we have to save each other... or to stop each other from making public embarrassments of ourselves. You know when an actor pauses whether it's for dramatic effect or it's a forgotten line. You can see the panic behind the eyes."

Twilight Takes Potter's Old Release Date: Nov. 21!

Yet more movie release date changes!

The other highly anticipated film with an enthusiastic fan base, Twilight, will now open on Nov. 21 instead of Dec. 12.

Twilight is taking over the weekend that was reserved for Potter-mania up until yesterday, when the release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was pushed all the way to July 17, 2009.

So, we get some Twilight sooner than expected and we've gotta wait a while longer for the next Potter movie. What a crazy week. I'm writing all my release dates in pencil from now on.
