Comedians came out in force for
No Man's Land's press night at the Duke of York's Theatre last night. The play has transferred from
its run at Dublin's Gate Theatre to London, and the stars of the show were joined by playwright Harold Pinter as well as Eddie Izzard, Rob Brydon and Dominic Cooper. David Walliams happily posed with his mother Kathleen as well as his costar Michael Gambon, who's also currently on the big screen in
Brideshead Revisited, while Russell Brand brought a touch of Hollywood glamour to the night in his shades.

Miramax has made the brave decision of releasing a film version of Brideshead Revisited which takes a fair few liberties with Evelyn Waugh's novel. If you've read it (which I did for September's
PopUK Book Club) you may find the alterations distracting, but view the film as a separate entity and you can marvel at the acting and cinematography.
It tells the story of Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode) and his involvement with the aristocratic Flytes, from his Oxford days with Sebastian (Ben Whishaw) to his relationship with Julia (Hayley Atwell).

The new
Miramax film version of Brideshead Revisited, based on Evelyn Waugh's novel (which we read for September's
PopUK Book Club), is released in the UK today.
It centres on Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode) and his infatuation with the aristocratic Catholic Flyte family, headed by Lady Marchmain (Emma Thompson) and Lord Marchmain (Michael Gambon).
Dramas unfold from Charles's intense relationships with siblings Sebastian (Ben Whishaw, who appears in our
October Must Haves) and Julia (
The Duchess' Hayley Atwell).

David Walliams was treated to a magical tour of Dublin this week from his forthcoming costar, and
Harry Potter's Dumbledore, Michael Gambon. The pair were also joined by Hogwarts' caretaker Argus Filch, known in the real world as David Bradley. The Little Britain star will be making
his theatrical debut alongside Michael and David in Harold Pinter's
No Man’s Land at Dublin's Gate Theatre this month.
