Elegant looks were out in force at
Elle's 15th Annual Women In Hollywood tribute event in LA yesterday. The annual event paid tribute to women working successfully in the film industry including Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda, Isla Fisher, Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway and Sigourney Weaver. Brit actresses Lena Headey and Kate Beckinsale flew the flag for the UK — I adore Kate's simple one-shouldered white gown.

Last week, Ellen DeGeneres
used her blog to speak out against CA Proposition 8, but last night she switched gears to host a party with Portia de Rossi in support of Prop 2. Tobey Maguire, Jared Leto and Amy Smart were just a few of the celebs that came out to support the Proposition regarding treatment of farm animals. Ellen's doing her part to stay politically active before the elections in November, but she's also been
enjoying her life as a newlywed.

The Fall TV season hasn't even started yet, and already, at least one network is looking a few months ahead. ABC, which only has one new scripted show (
Life on Mars) on its Fall schedule, has picked up
three dramas and two comedies for midseason.
Among them: Rob Thomas's
Cupid, his remake of his own 1998 show, which now stars Sarah Paulson and Bobby Cannavale (at right).

At one point in the second installment of the stories surrounding girls who have pants and will travel, an exasperated Carmen (America Ferrera) says something like, "Can we just please focus on the pants?!" And yet, that's the thing I find most refreshing about this sequel: there's not really a focus on the pants. The fact that Carmen has to remind her friends to think about the pants is a good sign in this case; the focus should be on these girls and their friendships, not two tubes of faded, magic denim.

Alexis Bledel, Blake Lively, America Ferrera, and Amber Tamblyn put on their best casually cute outfits and stopped by
TRL in NYC yesterday.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 just had its
big premiere a week ago, and the actresses are in full promotion mode, with a
quick GMA stop also. We'll have to wait and see if they can score the same success as those other
four fabulous females, but check back in to see what
Buzz thought of the sequel, which hits theaters tomorrow.

Last night at the
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 premiere, actress Amber Tamblyn looked sweetly fresh-faced. The makeup simply accentuates her beautiful skin and soft, smiling eyes — exactly what "natural-looking makeup" is supposed to do.

It's been a long few years since their first movie together for the girls of
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel all came together for their big red carpet premiere last night looking gorgeous in dresses. Beautiful in orange Blake was joined by most of her
Gossip Girl costars like Leighton, Chace, and Ed, but noticeably absent from the red carpet was her boyfriend Penn Badgley.

US university students are
paying about five times more for the birth-control pill than they were a few months ago, due to a provision in the Deficit Reduction Act. Many lawmakers say the provision, which prevents drug companies from donating the pill to campuses as a way to attract brand loyalty, was an unintended consequence of the legislation.
Activists, including actress
Amber Tamblyn, want to fix the mistake and are lobbying Congress to pass the Prevention Through Affordable Access Act.

Who's ready for more of those
magical pants? The trailer for the second installment of the movie franchise based on Ann Brashares's
best-selling novel is now online. It's interesting to see the four stars of the film back together now that they are each so accomplished on their own.
